Who we are
Raffia Boutique Hotel operates this website and is responsible for the personal information you share with us here. You can reach us at welcome@raffiaboutiquehotel.com.
We are based in Tanzania and we welcome guests from the European Union. We handle personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
When you send a stay request, we collect only what you enter in the form: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, arrival and departure dates, the number of adults and children, the ages of any children travelling with you, the room you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field.
We ask for children’s ages solely so that we can prepare the room appropriately. We use this for no other purpose.
When you browse the site, we use privacy-friendly analytics (Umami) that set no cookies, record no IP addresses and cannot identify you. We can see how many people visited a page, not who they were. For this reason the site shows no cookie banner.
Why we use it
We use your request only to answer it: to check availability, share rates and help you plan your stay. Under the GDPR this is processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
We send no marketing emails, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes.
Who else handles it
A small number of trusted providers process data on our behalf:
- Resend delivers the email generated by the form. We have selected their EU (Ireland) region.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Google Workspace hosts the mailbox that receives your request.
- Umami provides anonymous visitor statistics.
Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep stay requests for as long as we need them to answer you and to handle any booking that follows, and no longer than 24 months afterwards. You may ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to provide it in a portable format. You may also object to our use of it. Write to welcome@raffiaboutiquehotel.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are in the European Union and believe we have handled your information improperly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
